A Family-Run Catering Business Since 2003

Dips Foods is a family-run business, originally founded by Mahendra & Damu (Damyanti ben) at their residence in North London. The journey began by catering for just 25 guests each week, serving a simple Gujarati thali.

Within six months, demand increased significantly, leading to regular catering orders. As the business expanded, Rohit & Nimu (Nirmala ben) joined the company, strengthening its foundations and supporting its steady growth.

Today, Dips Foods offers an exceptional range of cuisines, including:

For week-long wedding celebrations, we create distinct menus for each event, ensuring guests enjoy a diverse culinary journey from cuisines across the world to ensure you’re not eating the same food every day.

Proven Experience in Large-Scale Events

Our capability and experience are demonstrated through landmark events, including:

  1. Catering for approximately 50,000 guests over 10 days during the Pratishta of Shree Digamber Jain Association UK (2006)
  2. Catering for 5,000 guests at the Diwali function at Oshwal Centre, Potters Bar (2008)
  3. Catering for the Summer Fete at Southgate School for the North East London Oshwal Community
  4. Having Food Stalls at many large events
  5. Multiply large events on the same day

Next-Generation Leadership & Innovation

Dipen Shah, son of Rohit & Nimu and nephew of Mahendra & Damu, joined the family business in early 2010 after completing a BSc in Computer Science. His arrival marked a period of innovation, modernisation, and digital transformation.

Dipen introduced modern systems, launched the business website showcasing what we do. with integrated technology into its operations. Under his leadership, the company has successfully managed high-value wedding catering contracts in the UK and overseas, including events in Kenya, Portugal, Morocco, and the United States.

Due to increasing demand within the UK, we have  since ceased international catering to focus exclusively on delivering exceptional value and service nationwide.

Expansion to Purpose-Built Premises & Retail

With demand doubling we relocated to our current premises in Stanmore in late 2011.

In 2013, we expanded into retail by opening a shop within our warehouse, initially offering around 40 products, including Kenyan-Style Chevda, Gathia, Frozen Samosa & Kachori, and Indian Sweets (Mithai).

Today, our retail division stocks over 700 products/variants, including:

  1. Freshly prepared savouries
  2. Imported Kenyan products
  3. Indian sweets
  4. Dry fruits & nuts
  5. Lentils, flours, spices and pantry essentials
  6. Kenyan & Indian Mangos (seasonal)

All savouries are produced in small batches to maintain superior freshness and flavour.

Our simple MOTO is  “if we don’t like it don’t give to others”.

Community Support & Charitable Contributions

Whether its directly or indirectly, we have consistently supported communities including the elderly throughout our existance within UK and  internationally.

Covid-19 Response & Social Responsibility

During Covid-19 pandemic when the country was in total shutdown, Mahendra & Dipen decided to reopen Dips Foods kitchen to provide free daily tiffins to elderly and vulnerable individuals during lockdown.

What began as 5 meals per day grew to over 400+ meals daily, along with food and snacks delivered to Covid wards at hospitals, and hospices across North & South London, Luton, and Northampton. NHS staff were supported with food so they could focus entirely on saving lives instead of worrying about making food.

During Covid-19, Weexpanded into the wholesale market, supplying our snack ranges to restaurants and retailers locally. As people were stuck at home and not able to travel far, they were able to get our snacks from their local stores.

Vegetarian & Live On-Site Catering Specialists

Dips Foods is a 100% vegetarian catering company, offering live on-site catering to ensure freshness, quality, and a memorable guest experience.

Some venues will only allow caterers from their approved caterers list. If we are not on the list, we have still managed to provide our services, by partnering with a few other catering companies by providing our food under their umbrella.

Our greatest achievement is the trust and loyalty of our customers, many of whom return to us repeatedly. Even when fully booked, we go the extra mile wherever possible and try and help them out.

Prestigious Clients & Recognition

Our high quality of food has been either purchased from our retail shop or eaten at functions attended by many high-profile individuals or institutions, including Chancellor, MPs, film and television personalities, member of the Vatican, and Dj / Musicians and many more.

We had the privilege of catering at the Prime Ministers Office (No. 10 Downing Street) on 23rd April 2025 for the Mahavir Jayanti Celebrations, as this for to do with  Jainism, we supplied bespoken Jain Canapes for this event.
